Subject: RE: Owning your own seed treater

Worth it for me. I can treat all of my beans in a single day. I think 1500 units/year would be my break point for doing it myself if buying a close to new box to box setup. I treat for a few other farms, they can usually save a couple bucks and I can make a couple, it helps pay for the machine. I usually run around 12-15 units per minute so I goes pretty quick. Make sure you have adequate space and your temps aren’t too cold during treating. If you had two people with two forklifts you would be shocked how many units you could do in a day. I have found that buying name brand products through wholesalers or even retailers can be cheaper than some of the products USC/DEI sell. Make sure treatment matches any possible replant coverage your seed company requires. Good luck
