zenfarm - 11/22/2024 14:49 The US safety net for farmers from the government has increased the farmers COP relative to Brazil, which IMO has been a big factor in the rise of Brazil relative to the US.

So if the government cuts out all the safety nets we will be able to lower production costs and be more price competitive with Brazil while farmers maintain an acceptable profit margin ?  Sounds like a win-win for the farmers, customers and consumers.  Almost sounds too good to be true.

Of all the costs in grains & oilseeds the biggest one I see is paying too much for land to buy or rent today . Dwarfs all other costs

Probably chance of safety nets going away is O, in Canada anyways
