I sold water conditioning equipment for 25 years. It has been a few years though. I have never heard of fine resin. With rural water you probably have 55 to 60 psi constantly. With fine resin you could possibly backflush your resin down the drain. They would need a finer screen for sure. TDS of 400 is lower than most well water. We have rural water here. Iirc it is about 350. I have dealt with water that is 2800 TDS.

The water TDS number is from the rural water company, which i don't exactly trust as it is, according to them, better in all ways compared to our well(which when we got the softener for the house it maxed out his TDS meter, so he came back with another and it did the same), yet it seems to be harder on everything, so...take it with a grain of salt I guess. |
