Subject: RE: Owning your own seed treater

I have a box to box treater. I treated around 650 units with it. I did a blend of 3 fungicides, insecticide and inoculant at one time. Total was around $9. Local seed retailers were in the $17-20 a unit for similar product minus the inoculant. I felt like it was worth the time to do it. You can do it in march when nothing else is going on. It takes about 5 minutes and 30 seconds to drop the seed from one box to the other. Then another couple minutes to run it back into the other box. By the time we shuffled everything around we were getting about 200 units an hour treated. I didn’t have anything else going on that day that was going to pay me $1500-$2000 an hour so it was worth my time. Your mileage may vary.
