Farmland, IN | Brian I've had 48vc84 the last couple years. It's a good hybrid with a lot of yield punch for a 108 day. Yield was good this year but we had a lot of trouble with that number wanting to break off and pile up on the corn head in the afternoons. I assume it was due to the extremely dry late summer and fall we had. I wouldn't be afraid to at least take a look at it. I had it side by side in several fields with pioneer p0953. The 0953 had a healthier looking stalk and didn't cause near as much trouble shelling. Similar yield. If you don't mind pioneer, 0953 is a great hybrid for that 109 day maturity.
