Subject: Best way to pull water from an existing pond?

SE Indiana
I am wanting to plumb into an existing pond to supply about 200 head of fat cattle.

Thinking I could drop a submersible down inside vertical perforated pipe with concrete in the bottom and have the pipe tall enough to be able to hook on and pull it out if I need to work with the pump.

I think I’d be happier with a submersible pump but I have no experience with one pumping pond water. I have been told they are more efficient than a centrifugal but maybe some of you could argue that?? One thing for sure is that I hate priming a suck pump when you have issues. The other pro will a submersible is that it obviously won’t freeze under water but I would still need to do something for the bladder tank. Any of you ever put one under water?

Or just build a heated pump house and be done with it? Curious how you all would set this system up?
