Iron filter may or may not be required. Remove iron first.then softener. 80000 grain softener calculation. Say your water has 20 grains of hardness. 80000/20= 4000 gallon per regeneration. It is recommended that you regenerate at 80% capacity so 3200 gallons.


So, at 64,000 capacity, 24 grains of hardness, about every 2,100 gallons then.

I'm looking at the one from Menards, for what it is worth, $600 or $640(normal vs fine).

For what it is worth, no one around here has a dedicated iron filter, that I know of anyways.
