Radio rtk isnt going anywhere. Its still going to be required for any kind of operation involving vertical accuracy.
As I stated the current generation of John Deere receiver is the last one that will accept an RTK radio. We have known this for over a year now. They are working 5 to 6 years ahead of release dates so we do not know how vertical accuracy is going to be addressed but we do know it will not be with a radio mounted to a receiver. Even then all the radio based units out there will continue to work for years to come just as they do today. 5 years ago it was not possible to get RTK accuracy from satellites without some sort of land based correction but today it is working great, I think we have only seen the tip of the ice burg on what satellite RTK can provide in terms of accuracy not only horizontal but vertical also. |
