Alpena MI
In our experience with dairy cattle, soft water and an iron filter can dramatically raise water intake, increase milk production and lower respiratory treatment rates. The harder the water, the larger the benefits of a softener.

For beef cattle, water consumption will increase and cattle will be healthier and gain better. Again, that’s our personal experience.

If water is high in iron, a filter can have more effect than a softener.

Your mileage may vary.
