Cen Ks | I had the good fortune of getting someone's family heirloom. A old farmer retiring said I could have his grandmother's dinner bell. He said it had been stored in his shop for decades. It's probably a 100 plus years old. Its about 22 - 24in diameter at the base. It has multiple layers of paint. I was planning on sandblasting it clean and repainting before mounting. Some one warned me not to get it too hot sandblasting; it might crack. The bell is at least an inch thick. Is cracking a risk ? I can use a flap disk but blasting will get the old cast material much cleaner. Does anybody know what it might be worth? TIA | |
