Have a Case 2290 that I went to start today after sitting a couple weeks and just about dead, jumped it and started. batteries are 6+ years old, came from CaseIh. Have a IH 5288 that I have a shutoff on and now no more trouble with dead batteries, its really the only one that has ever gave me trouble. All of my tractors only get used seasonally, sit a lot during winter but batteries have been lasting pretty well. Should I put the shutoff's on just to maybe prevent something happening down the road? Also any great choices on batteries? All tractors are 89 and older. Thanks.
I have shutoffs on everything but not necessarily to keep batteries charged but to prevent electrical fire. Mice can do a lot of unseen damage and if something were to catch fire I'd never get everything out. |
