Elmwood, Ne. Just East of Lincoln | I checked with a moving company and they wanted $13,000 to move it. We decided to give it a try and if we lost it so be it. It’s a 25 year old building. We took the weight off and sawed all the polls off at the ground. Jacked it up and got it on blocks by using the tractor loader and skid loader as jacks. If I hadn’t had as big of a loader as I do, it would not have worked. The main complication was my entire front wall was doors and that complicated things. Had it been a regular end wall entry door it would have been fairly easy. Once we got it in the air, we set it down on two 18 inch poles. Only needed to go about 50 foot backwards so my son and I hooked two tractors on and pulled together to get north. Once we got to that point, I hooked cables between the polls so they would move at the same time and we pulled the polls sideways once again with two tractors. The reason we used two tractors is so that we did not have to brace the polls up so they would not pull together. The only major problem we had was the beam across one of the big doors broke and fell down and dented the door. This happened when we hit the clutch at final resting place. We did get it all back and we were only out one 2 x 4 and some body work. Then we then drilled new post holes and buried six by sixes back and bolted them to the old ones. It all finished better than expected. Would I try again? The jury is still out on that one. One thing I did learn is these pole sheds with the tin on them are fairly resilient. It creaked and groaned but in the end made it.
