West of Mpls MN about 50 miles on Hwy 12 | I called it constructive criticism.
Dad and I got along good. Probably because he was as progressive as I was, we were both working towards the same goal, and dad realized when we were BOTH young enough to benefit from the next generation becoming the "main push" as dad liked to call it, dad let the next generation become the "main push" with some constructive criticism along the way...I wish my mother had been as progressive as my dad, wife, and me.
Our two special needs sons won't be farming, our daughter has little to no interest in farming...our grand daughter is showing some farming interest at age two. At this point in time it looks like I'll be the last of my kind farming.
I do have a nephew that I help out quite a bit for zero compensation. It's frustrating for me because my nephew is the person that seems to be stuck in the "old ways" and unwilling to invest the time and money required to "push" the farm into the next generation for BOTH of our benefit...oh well.
