NW Iowa | Because people don't slow down for anything anymore. I was about a quarter mile behind a belly dump rock trailer that was hauling crushed limestone, it looked like 3/4 or 1". A cap came off a right rear tire and almost instantly the trailer dumped it's load on the road at 60 MPH. The cap caught an air line to the dump cylinder and down it came. The rock couldn't be spread out on the road any smoother than the way it spread out. I slowed way down when I came up to it but when I was half way through I met an empty semi that didn't slow down a bit. By luck my windshield wasn't hit by a flying rock from that truck. | |
