Manitoba | I searched for the model of sander that you mentioned, and couldn't find it.
I have a King Industrial 26" dual drum sander with a 3 hp motor. You need to have good dust collection with it, or it burns the wood and ruins the sandpaper. I have 80 grit on the primary roll and 120 on the secondary. Mine is not open ended. I guess I was a bit afraid of flexing. I use it more than I ever thought I would. As far as replacing the sandpaper, the only thing I don't like is the clips holding the ends.
I use mine a lot for the same purpose as demoed in the linked video above, but I think it works better than the Flatmaster would. | |
