North Central Iowa | Dave, I bought a Browning Superposed through Gunbroker a couple of years ago. I just wanted an over/under to hunt pheasants with. It was advertised as having Briley tubes which intrigued me. I did a little research and bought the gun for less than the Briley tubes would cost new. It came in a hard case with the original owners name on it. It had a National Skeet Shooting Association card in it with the owners name from Oct of 1961. The tubes were not Briley tubes, but factory Browning from that era. The barrels are both choked for skeet shooting. I had planned to have it machined to be able to put modern choke tubes in it and use it to hunt pheasants. It's a Belgian made shotgun which I've always understood to be a big deal. I don't want to wreck something of value, but it has no sentimental attachment to me whatsoever. I've never sold a gun in my life, and don't intend to start now, but I also don't have many "safe queens". Mine are bought to use. What are your thoughts? Is it valuable enough to preserve, or will I destroy it's value completely by adding modern choke tubes? |
