"Some red flags started appearing with my brother saying all rental payments go to him, not the trust."
There's got to be more to this story, however that was the beginning of the 'red flags' for you??? From the sounds of it you operated the farm or worked on the farm for 44 years and you have no idea what is going on or went on? Almost unbelievable to me but I've seen similar things happen when daddy runs the show till the grave. Pretty much speechless until we learn more.
Not that uncommon.
We all specialize into what we do. Crops, livestock, paperwork, etc.
Chat with and believe family. Do our thing, they do their thing, one big happy family.
It’s all good until someone has to look through the paperwork. What’s been told and what actually happened is pretty easy to cover up in legalese paperwork shuffle.
