NE Alberta | I would recommend a random orbital polisher (cordless example would be Milwaukee 2684-20) as opposed to a variable speed polisher (cordless example would be Milwaukee 2738-20). If you are not "good" at it the variable speed polisher will burn through the paint on edges or high spots before you know it. The random orbital will stop spinning and just "jiggle" if you push too hard on those spots, saving your paint. Watching the rotation as you travel over the high spots or ridges with a random orbital polisher will let you know how little pressure it would take to burn the paint off if you were using a straight polisher. The random orbital will still have the "jam" to get good production. Corded or cordless is largely a question of how much you are willing to spend for convenience, as the cordless will cost twice what a typical corded will (with some exceptions based on quality, etc.). | |
