Lots of options for pads and polishes-compounds. I'm sure you'll get a lot of options and opinions on what to use. But for the beginner, Harbor Freight sells a good corded DA unit for around $120. Cordless options are available from Milwaukee and Dewalt from around $250-300, or professional grade cordless are up to $500-600.
