Near-north Ontario, French River | First off, I'd consider moving your bale blind closer to where the deer cross BUT if you cant or dont want to I'd consider a .270 or .308 at minimum for 200yd shots. I'm guessing you are a novice hunter, so the closer you are the higher the chances of a quick clean kill. Sure guys that have hunted for years and are truly great shots can reliably kill deer at 200 yds with ligher calibers, but from experience most deer hunters only get their rifles out a week before the season, fire off a few rounds and head to the field. |
