Everyoone experiences ketones. They are in our blood all the time. It is just when we are in nutritional ketosis the levels get high enough to register on a ketone meter very high. Everyone will have one or two mml level in their blood.

Everyone should enter into nutritional ketosis every night sometime after supper and before breakfast in the morning during our daily fasting period. If a person is not it is likely because they have become insulin resistant or eaten so many carbohydrates late the night before the body is still trying to get the excess glucose out of the bloodstream when we wake.

Ketones in the bloodstream is a completely natural and beneficial condition. Lots of health positives about it. The liver produces them. They become a primary source of fuel for the body if our glucose levels drop. We tap into our "stored groceries" in our subcutaneous fat and the liver produces ketones and glucose from that fat for energy as needed. It is why we don't starve and die if we miss a meal or two.
