It would force companies like Bayer, BASF, Corteva, and syngenta to do what they should’ve been doing this entire time, researching and finding new and improved chemistries and modes of action. But why do it now? Round up works and it’s epa approved, so why put in the effort when the reward isn’t there?
Necessity is the mother of invention. There are better chemistries out there, the necessity isn’t there currently
There are new modes of action in the pipeline. They've been able to see the necessity for at least the last decade.
The problem is that new modes of action aren't that easy to find, and the testing is more extensive, as it should be.
We need a full toolbox, and we need to be using them all as appropriate, or the new modes of action are going to go the way of the old modes.
We simply cannot rely on a single mode of action and expect it to work. |
