Getting rid of chemicals will do the opposite of what you are saying.  Family farms of the past had lots of kids to pull the weeds, like 7 to 15 kids, how many have that many now? BTOs are much more willing and ready to hire employees to weed the fields. 

Is it really even a family farm when non family employees out number family workers?
