I take serious issue with the apparent bent in this thread to declare a farmer as being "evil" just because of size.
And I guess it is "greed" when someone else buys the farm next door, but if it's me, it's OK???
What defines the difference between a decision to expand being "greedy", or simply being good business to allow a family member to enter the farm business? What if there are 4 family members who want to join the business...or ten? Does that make it "greed" and now they are automatically an "evil" BTO???
