I have a 6500 receiver that I could us on it. Would the trimble steering valve and wheel sensor work with the steercommand?

Steering Valve - Likely. Trimble Wheel Position Sensor - No

We have an older Deere 8310 that had an external steering valve, Trimble wheel position sensor, Nav II and Trimble 750 for steering. I switched to an Ag Leader InCommand 1200 with the legacy Steer Command module during a trade-up program that Ag Leader had some years ago. We were able to reuse the steering valve that had been installed with the Trimble. An Ag Leader wheel position sensor was needed.

The system works well. Since you have experience with an Insight, I think you would be very happy with an InCommand 1200. You may feel you've gone backwards with the Trimble system

Later I purchased a CIH STX-450 on a retirement sale. It came with a Trimble 750, Nav II, external steering valve etc. I am seriously considering removing it and replacing it with a spare Ag Leader display, GPS 6500 and Steer Command since I much prefer the Ag Leader approach. The Trimble system does work but working with their AB line organization is irritating.
