Prices were low compared to the cost of inputs.
Were they though? $60 per bag seed, a new 7720 combine was $65,000. Those numbers aren’t that many bushels of $2 corn. Input costs vs corn price were a lot worse than that my first year farming in 2005.
So what caused this?
