If a farmer had 360 acres and no kids to take it over, that ground got sold when he passed away.

Farm was rented out to a HUGE BTO (40-50k acre operator) when grandpa was still alive.
The farm is in the family, (my mom and uncle still own half each) and thankfully rented to a mid size family farm that takes care of the land, puts inputs in.... now when mom and dad go... I am guessing we sell it to the mid size guy, (I will lobby hard for this) , but I have a brother and sister to make arrangements with. Lets hope this does not happen for a long... long time, I hope my parents live for a long time.
The 360 acres that my grandma owned while she was in the the home for Alzheimer's was enough to pay for her to live there for 15+ years thank god. She earned it!
(FYI this was my moms parents land and her brother got half, he was already in town working when grandpa "retired" cause the farm was not big enough to support 2 families.
