Northern Nebraska
They bought it because they could, because we have this thing called freedom in America. I doubt the founding fathers had any comprehension the robber barons and fiefdoms some would try too put together.

This is where the country and specifically the republican party need to think long and hard about what is more important. Complete freedom, or if government regulations have a place in the vision going forward.

Is any regulation needed?
Who gets to decide who can and cannot own land?
Who gets to decide how much land a person can own?
Are these things static or can they be changed?
What happens if the type of person who can own land doesn't include you or I ?
What happens if most farms are larger than what is allowed?

Serious debate on this is going to be very complicated.
