What is a factory farm? and what is a family farm? (more than 1/2 of all labor hours are done by family members of the same family)

On our farm almost all field work is done by family members, only thing that gets done that is hired is air plane spraying and some equipment repairs.  We farm thousands of acres, own 2 self propelled sprayer. If we are not allowed to make full use of these sprayers with the chemicals we currently use and ones developed in the future, we might not be a family farm anymore.

If we want to get away from Smithfield pig factory we would need medium/small sized butchers as in ones that can process 100 to 1000 animals per day. Someone to raise these animals like all the city people that live in the country on 5+ acres. If it was done by most people that currently farm it would likely be not much different than how it is currently done. Would also need stores to be willing to sell meat from these animals.
