The option market says that SPY hitting the 400 level by the end of the year is half of one percent odds. Anyone waiting around for it will be losing a lot of money by sitting around in cash...

The S&P 500 market index does not have a cyclical pattern - it goes up, goes up more, and continues higher again for over 100 years now. There is no "buy low, sell high" strategy that works on a market like that. Just get in the market and hold until retirement!!


Im not advocating for or against buying SPY or VOO today, but if a guy jumped in the S&P mid summer of the year 2000, and needed that cash to buy a farm any time before about 2012, that was not a profitable trade.
