I worked as an agrologist/agronomist for over 40 years, and one thing that never changes is how farm chemicals are priced.
Always just barely affordable, but never to the point where you can afford not to use them.

Once a patent expires, there are sometimes a few startups, making things more affordable,
but mysteriously, they all seem to shut down within a few years. Usually bought out by Big Pharma.

all have gotten A LOT cheaper over the years....... and some are really old

You forgot 2,4-D, which is the oldest. Anyone using that one as their only herbicide?
