Pittsburg, Kansas | In tha above link he references Dr Bernstein. This is a Dr also worth listening to. He has been type I since childhood, is a medical doctor specializing in treating both type I and type II diabetics, and he is up around 90 years old. Type I diabetics usually don't live that long. Before the invention of insulin they did not live long at all. So him with his both personal and professional experience on the subject, he is definitely worth listening to. But his ideas on blood sugar levels, for everyone not just diabetics, is on the extreme not only for the general medical profession but also even for a lot of the low carb doctors I listen to.
The doctors I listen to are concentrated on both the lowering of not only glucose, but also insulin as they feel both high glucose and high insulin is not conductive to good health. Bernstein on the other hand might suggest to me to further lower my glucose levels to go either on low dose medication or perhaps low dose basal insulin shot. So he is more glucose centric in his thinking than most of the low carb doctors I follow.
But it is hard to argue with success. And Bernstein has found success in both his patients as well as himself.
Anyway, diabetics could do worse than listening to some of his videos. I have watched quite a few myself.
