West-Central IL | I have a Trimble FMX (10.18 software) and AG25 GPS antenna. Im using Digifarm Beacon 3.0 and android phone with Digifarm app for RTK correction.
It is taking longer and longer to get the RTK Fixed.
I can be sitting still out in the field, and everything is working properly (7-10 satellites and RTK is Fixed). If I put my hand over the AG25 antenna, I instantly drop to 2-4 satellites and it drops back to DGPS as expected. When I remove my hand from the AG25 the satellites immediately jump back up to 7-10, but it may take 2, 5, 10 minutes, if ever, to get it back to RTK Fixed. It never ever goes into RTK Float. I tried a different AG25 antenna and coax cable, but that did not help. I tried a different FMX and after covering the AG25 and dropping it back to DGPS, when uncovered it would get RTK Fixed in less than 10 seconds every time.
Another observation was that after the FMX would drop back to DGPS, occasionally the offline distance and satellite number would lock-up. Not the whole FMX. I could still open and close the pages like normal. Only the offline number and number of satellites would freeze. I could move the AG25 3 feet and the offline distance wouldnt change. I could cover up the AG25 and the number of satellites wouldn't change. This usually only lasted for 10-30 seconds and then would start working correctly again. A couple times it did not pick up and work again and I had to power down the FMX.
I called Digifarm and he had me change from RTCM to CMR, but that did not help. It would show that I had 100% CMR but it still would not RTK Fix like it should.
He suggested re-flashing the FMX software. I have updated the FMX software before (although it's been a while). Do I re-flash it the same way? It is already running version 10.18. Do I put 10.18 on a thumb drive and simply tell it to download, or do I have to remove version 10.18 first and then reload it? If so, how do I remove version 10.18?
If this doesn't correct the problem, do you have any other ideas?
Thank you. | |
