Fairy rings are round because they are the remains of an old tree stump. If these are the same, there would have to have been a tree there that size in the first place.
This is not true. I have fairy rings in my hog barn lawn. That lot was stripped down to clay to build the pit then black dirt brought back over it. No trees present ever, but I still have round rings. It's the way the fungus grows. |
