Cherokee iowa | It’s a funny world. We were successful with our little coops 25-30 years ago. Was always farmer friendly. The manager would stay open till midnight if guys were running. Now they not even ready to take beans when I start. Waste my time calling if open oh sorry location 3 and 14 open rest not taking. Use to be cheapest on chem fert fuel seed storage ext. Use to be %100 business from them now about %25. Become a corporate game for big wages. Didn’t get to vote on the last merger. Was told price would come down like the last two. Can buy in larger volumes. We farmers are the fools all they did was control our local market more and raised the prices. Has made room for smaller independents which is nice. Coops waste more then the govt I think. Honestly I look for our coop to close 4-5 locations. They use to fill all them now they sit half empty and wonder why. If I wanna give charity I’ll give to the poor and not the corporate. But I guess others know how to spend my money better then I. Bins are farmer friendly an investment in one’s own operation. | |
