I've been thinking about this topic since this thread was started. It seems to me that if the universe is expanding, then it would be expanding in all directions. Why would it expand just horizontally, and not expand vertically as well? But the article I linked to above suggests the universe is "flat", at least relatively.... It dawned on me today... if the universe is spinning, and I would say spinning at a high speed, that could help explain why the universe is flat. It would also help explain the expanding of the universe as well. So, is this what is happening? Have any researchers looked into this idea? |
