N.W. Ohio | Just curious how many here run an air reel on their combine? I’d never felt we had enough shatter loss to justify one, but after this fall and running significant acres of 8-9% beans I’m second guessing that thought. First thing after the over night moisture came off we had very little shatter for a couple hours, then depending on the variety, things started getting bad. Then after sunset things definitely improved again. Enough that it was apparent on the yield monitor. I would’ve loved to up end the routine and start after supper and run well into the night, but I knew that the crew would balk at that. lol So my question for those that run air reels, have you seen significantly reduced header losses compared to no air reel? And what brands would you recommend?
