Eastern Washington State | I got a "new to me" sprayer with a Raven Viper 4+, my previous setup was a tow-behind sprayer and used a Trimble GFX750 in the tractor. So far I like the Viper 4 but there are a few things I can do with the Trimble that I haven't been able to figure out on the Viper 4.
With the Trimble, once I have a good boundary saved for a field I can create a headlands pass from that and use autosteer when doing the headlands, is there a way to do this with the Raven?
Another thing I can do with the Trimble is create an inner boundary however many swath widths in from the edge of the field. This is used by my sectional control to turn things off at the desired distance from the edge. It really handy when I'm streaming nitrogen because then I can do my headlands passes last and I don't have to drive the equipment through areas where I've already applied (like you do when you do your headlands first). I can't figure this out in the Raven either. The closest I can get is to make a "Flip Zone", which does what I want it to do, but I have to drive around the outside of the field first for every operation and that's just a big waste of time. Can anyone help me with this?
