I feed a lot of cornstalk and wheat straw bales each year. But that's running them through a tmr with added QLF for mineral, ethanol plant syrup, and some decent hay.
I have to mix it to get them to clean up the stalks. I didn't have very good results feeding it in rings or unrolled bales.
My nutritionist likes them in the ration, and I like my costs......
