The "rules" to qualify for almost anything governmental and especially in Ag are hard to comprehend. Lot of bins built with "disaster relief" money here in the last several months on farms that experienced zero damage. 10 miles west, several farms had several bins and some had all their storage leveled, and didn't qualify for a dime. Had to be within 50 miles of a commercial elevator that received damage. Folks here qualified because a milling company (that only takes in a limited amount of certain grains) was damaged, but those folks to the west are out of the zone. None of what you would consider our commercial elevators within 50 miles that buy grain from everybody were damaged.
