If it's only 1,100 acres, I'd probably get a pull type and rent one of your dad's tractors. If you grow, there will be another machine, and hopefully you'll have some equity to build off of.
If you're 100% on a SP, you can run fertilizer through it. There is also custom work. But every time I've tried to find work to justify an equipment purchase, it hasn't been the right call.
