Southeast WI | We are all individuals and we all think differently, and without reading other replies yet I don't know what advice you've been given. But why is this such a difficult decision that shouldn't be expensive or complicated?
Buy a nice small pull type sprayer. 45 or 60' boom. Tractors have hitch pins for a reason. Even if it comes with an expensive controller (which you don't need) hooking up and unhooking a sprayer is literally a 2 min job for one person. This is what you're obsessing about?
I farmed 300 acres working a full time job with ONE 85 hp tractor that pulled the planter, sprayer, sidedress rig and fert spreader. All items had hitch pins and easy disconnects for a reason. Now it's nicer and more efficient to have a tractor lined up on the sprayer and each planter but it got to the point it made economic sense as we grew the farm.
Edit to add I read the other replies. I will reiterate "TRACTORS HAVE HITCH PINS FOR A REASON". It makes it easy to hook and unhook. Don't consider a 3 point sprayer. Dumb idea. Plus if you get an open tractor who the hell wants a spray boom 10' behind you and getting misted with chemicals. Jeepers.
