| I would pass on the well used self propelled. Repair cost, mostly thinking wheel motors and hydros, can make them super expensive to own in a hurry.
There is a plentiful supply of used pull-type sprayers. Last summer I bought a really nice 90ft 1200 gallon pull type with Raven ISO control for under $5000 on a dealer excess inventory auction. The dealer made it known they were not happy about the price, but let it sell. That is overkill for you but you get the idea. Smaller sprayers will sell at a little bit of a premium, but you can easily get a unit with 60ft hyd booms and 800-1000 gallon tank for under $4000. Stick to Top-Air, Demco, Fastand etc. Skip the import sprayers like Hardi. They have expensive proprietary parts.
Best advice it save as much money as possible on the sprayer and invest in automatic GPS swath control. It makes spraying fun. If your budget is $30,000 you could buy a nice pull type sprayer, and really nice GPS controller system like AgLeader, even throw in autosteer, and still have a pile of money left over!
