Subject: trusight row guidance problems.

East Central, Nebraska
so i have a headsight trusight that had worked well for years. i used it for a long time on a older deere steering through an ontrac then moved it most recently to a deere s series steering through the hydraulic block on the combine. it has been working on that combine for the last 4 years great. this year it has not functioned and we have been running pretty hard so i havent looked into it, we got a little shower and looked at it tonight.

the problem lies with the row feelers sensor. when plugged in the voltage reads 2.4 volts like it should if it is centered. when it is unplugged it reads 0 like it should. but when plugged in it will read 2.4 volts regardless of moving the wands. everything tested fine so i am certain it is not a wiring issue. i figured that it was likely just the sensor being bad so i went to a local dealer and picked up a sensor. the new sensor confused the situation much more. when i plug in the sensor i get a voltage error saying to there must be a short on wire number one in the 40 pin plug and the trusense brain box (tcm box) chatters non stop until i unplug the sensor.

so the new sensor just made everything worse. i guess as of now it seems to me as if the new sensor is possibly faulty and has a direct short but either way i am still lost about what could be causing the problem. i am going to try another sensor in the morning but was wondering if anyone else has any ideas. i think years ago when i bought this that i remember headsight having excellent support but now it would appear they were sold to precision planting so i am unsure who to look to for support and the closest dealer does have any ideas what is going on. any help would be appreciated. thanks.
