IBNinja - 10/20/2024 14:22 Hello, I am trying to get operations center to sync with my 4240 display in my 6M series tractor. Display is mounted to corner post with the large round plug for a cable. All are new to me and so is operations center. I am moving from trimble to try the AutoTrac in this new John Deere. So far I love the AutoTrac but am not impressed with the John Deere software and data transfer stuff. Option 1: JDLink; Tractor is MTG equipped but it says it is not connected. My understanding is that I need a separate ethernet cable to hook it to the tractor? But I can't find the ethernet plug in in the tractor. That is a separate cord from the large round 7 pin connector? I feel like this should be standard cable stuff already taken care of. Why is tractor MTG equipped if I can't hook it to my 4240 display? Can I only hook it to a 4640 and have it work? Option 2: WiFi; Can I sync operations center over wifi? I can connect to my wireless network with the 4240 display. It says I have a good connection but it says there is no internet connection. Do I need a USB adapter to get this to work? Is it even worth it? Can I sync both directions over wifi or should I just keep using my USB stick to transfer everything. I have called 2 technicians on this and they don't have a clue. They say it should work and don't know how. Dealerships are useless because they don't have any tech people where I live in Wyoming. I have to call someone East River to get a decent technician. Does anybody have any input that could help me? I have this exact setup. Probably be easiest to just have a phone call. Send me an email and Ill send you my phone number. |
