Would love to notill, just doesn’t work in our area. At least doesn’t work profitably. Strip till is a viable option for corn, but you still need to get it darker for soybeans. Just keep tiling as much as I can so when someone figures out how to no till in our area we will be ready to go.
Agree a dry fall can turn into a mess very quickly. Around here we had the infamous Halloween storm during the late 80’s I believe it was. Talk to any farmer who is old enough to remember it and it is kind of like 9/11, everyone remembers it very clearly.
