Haven’t looked at the Green Lightning website in a while, last time I looked they were talking about applying 100 gallons an acre. IIRC, they said it was a 2% N solution.
I have heard that 2% claim also. Check out some basic math below.
From their website, the tote top model: https://www.greenlightning.ag/team-4
"The THUNDER 365 can supply N for 550 acres of corn annually"
"110k lbs of N/year"
Ok, well we know corn should be around 100 gallon/acre of Green N, we know its around 2% N, and we know the Green N solution density can't be all that much different than water. Lets do some quick multiplication.
550 acres * 100 gpa = 55,000 gallons
55,000 gallons * 8.34 lb/gallon = 458,700 lb Green N
458,700 lb * 2% = 9174 lb N
I know our numbers are going to be off a little bit but our very basic math result for total N production is 1/10th of their claim.
The 110k lbs of N/year claim must be the amount of traditional fertilizer N that this unit replaces, not the amount of N that this unit produces. Again they are muddling the information and working circles around the fact that their product somehow is 10x more efficient at turning lb of N into lb of grain. |
