Farms we have picked up that have had "skip years" by the previous farmer never yield like our fields we keep up on. I would never skip as it is a long time and expensive to recover. I understand current economics and would do a removal rate at minimum.
^^^^^^ I agree. Skip one year, spend 2 years catching up. Listened to a few agronomists talking. IF a guy were to strip or band fertilizer you could do 85-90% removal rate. But on top safely at least removal. I've spent to many years, and money to fall behind on my soil bank. I'm looking elsewhere to save money. |
