 Cleveland, MS. Own small farm near Booneville, MS | Back in the 1960s and 70s my dad liked John Deere tractors but he thought IH had a better cotton picker. I believe, but don’t know for sure, that the round baler was what gave JD the picker market. I doubt that the green picker units are any better than the red ones. But the module building is what sunk CIH.
Edit to add: Dad ran old pickers. IH 420 diesel and later a 422 on propane. Never did figure out why he bought a propane.
