I believe there are a lot of exaggerated stories going out there. Crazy stuff…. That’s unfortunate.
I also think there is some funny business going on with the FEMA budget. Some of there money is going into the immigration issues. 2%, more? They admit to 2%. Might be more. A lot of fema is bureaucracy and such spending, so 2% of their budget is a pretty big chunk of their ‘actual’ money that gets distributed. Maybe more.
I recall fema not getting very much right a long time ago when there was a hurricane at New Orleans. At least, there were lots of claims of such.
I don’t think I would trust fema to explain away the questions raised, so getting the info ‘from the source’ doesn’t sound real accurate. They aren’t going to paint a bad picture of themselves are they? Would take a little independent digging to get some real info maybe. The way the info was thrown together, it sure reads more like a we need to cover our tracks propaganda deal. Than actual facts.
FEMA has a tough job. Sit around and wait and prepare for - some unknown disaster. Some time. Don’t waste any money doing so. But by golly if something happens ya weren’t there within 15 minutes and you didn’t clean everything up in 12 hours, what a failure…. It’s a tough gig, a lot of the blame they get is just frustration….
But, I still have questions. Where they do spend their money on what programs, and what kind of paper pushing govt buracracy ends up maybe hurting more than helping during such a time
Telling people to use an app, when the internet infrastructure is down. That kind of thing, if true, tells me a lot of what they do is created by people sitting at a desk, who don’t understand the situation and might be doing more harm than good to people that need help in hours, not days and weeks later when the proper forms are filled out.
I tend to trust the fella showing up with a chainsaw and pack of bottled water than the fella showing up with a laptop and forums to fill out….. when I need help.
